  • Equality Bill passes the Lords
    The Equality Act 2010 has passed into law (8th April 2010). Its main provisions will come into force from 1st October 2010
  • New employment legislation
    New employment legislation in force from 6th April 2010
  • Long live contingency fees in Employment Tribunals!

    The Damages Based Agreements Regulations 2010 have been published in their final form. Much to relief of claimant solicitors, contingency fee agreements in Employment Tribunal claims have not only survived, but the cap which was provisionally recommended at 25% has been increased to 35% (inclusive of VAT).

  • First ever reduction in maximum compensatory award
    The annual review of compensation limits has resulted in a reduction to the maximum compensatory award limit from £66,200 to £65,300 with effect from 1st February 2010.
