Paul Strelitz LL B (Soton)

Employment

Paul Strelitz is now a well established employment practitioner who has consolidated his position as a very promising junior of note, having also obtained ‘Leading Individual’ status with an entry at Band 1 in Chambers and Partners 2011 despite only being called to the Bar in 2005. There clients are quoted as saying that he:

“...has a diverse employment practice. Applauded for his expert attention to detail and his excellent advocacy skills, he is "a pleasure to watch in action." Solicitors appreciate his "calm demeanour and the clarity of his advice," noting that "he is able to inspire confidence in clients who he has only just met."

In its latest edition Legal 500 describes him as having :

"a very commercial 'can do' approach to clients' legal problems"

Paul is regularly instructed by Solicitors for both Respondent and Claimant work as a result of his ability and keenness to properly address the law, his effectively-firm style of cross examination and his overwhelming desire to be as helpful as possible to those that instruct him. His diverse practice means that recent cases have taken him from the Ashford Employment Tribunal up as far as Newcastle, with two cases acting alone against Queens Counsel. He has undertaken multi-day trials in the High Court and also appeared in the Employment Appeal Tribunal.

Paul is in a Tribunal or court at least four days every week but is still praised for his ability to turn around very helpful paperwork in 14 days, and quicker if so required. He is as happy being contacted in Chambers as he is by telephone out of office hours and as a result has a significant number of Solicitors who use Paul on a regular basis.

In line with Paul’s employment practice, he also undertakes work advising companies upon employment related legislation, including personal injury claims, as well as acting in contractual disputes up to and including the High Court.

Contract

Paul has acted for and advised for both Claimants and Defendants on a variety of matters from the initial stages of litigation up to and including appearing alone in multi-track disputes in commercial, contractual and land law disputes. Notably Paul assisted David Pugh, then Head of Chambers, in advising on contractual/planning matters relating to the effects of the EU Directives on Public Procurement on a £2.5m leisure centre for a local authority. Paul also regularly advises solicitors on company law, including shareholders’ disputes and breach of director’s duties.

Personal injury

Paul also accepts instructions on, and regularly appears in, personal injury matters from the small claims track up to the multi-track.

Paul, along with Richard Wood, has also set up a Public Access website which can be viewed at www.easlaw.co.uk

Interests

Away from the law Paul is a very keen triathlete and rugby fan.
