He accepts instructions on a CFA basis where appropriate. Please contact the clerks to discuss your needs further.
He also undertakes work providing advice in more general areas of civil ligitigation including insolvency, detailed assessment of costs, consumer credit act issues, contentious probate matters and in particular claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family & Dependants) Act 1975.
He appears in the Crown Court and Magistrates' Courts across East Anglia and London acting in cases involving all types of criminal offence. He also continues to gain more experience in proceedings under POCA 2002 both on conviction and under the provisions that allow for civil recovery. Prior to starting at East Anglian Chambers in 2004, Marcus worked for Russell, Jones and Walker as a paralegal dealing with offences of rape, violence and serious fraud. Significant cases include large-scale white-collar crime including multi-million pound VAT "carousel" frauds and evasion of import duty on cigarettes.
He also was a regular pro-bono advisor at the Toynbee Hall Legal Advice Centre in Tower Hamlets for a number of years when he lived in London. Advice was sought on everything from problems with receiving post to the litigation of personal injury and housing-related issues.
