Specialist
Teams:
Planning, Environment and Local Government
From our earliest days we have acted for local
authorities in
most if not all areas in which they function and we have provided the
same expertise to individuals and organisations in their dealings with
local authorities. This has included the formulation of planning
policy, representation at local plan inquiries and prosecuting and
defending in a wide range of cases involving regulatory offences.
Members of the team have considerable experience of
advising
and representing the private sector at all levels on planning and
environmental matters including major commercial projects (such as
industrial, housing and retail developments) and major waste and
mineral extraction proposals. We are able to assist with all aspects of
such work, including licensing and regulation.
In
recent years we have recruited with the specific aim of meeting the
demand for specialists in this area and our team, some of whom are
members of PEBA, now includes those able to offer expert knowledge of
and experience of work in the following areas:
- Competitive
tendering and contracting out
- Compulsory purchase
- Development agreements
- Education
- Environment
- Highways and footpaths
- Planning
